We are pleased to inform you that the Board of the ACB has concluded its recruitment process and appointed Dr. Henry Fomundam as Executive Director.
Dr. Fomundam brings over 30 years of experience in global health, with extensive leadership in health systems strengthening, disease control programmes, and policy development across Africa and globally. His experience spans collaboration with governments, regional institutions, and international partners, including leadership of multi-country initiatives such as PEPFAR programmes. He will be based in Addis Ababa in his capacity as Executive Director.
The Board is confident that his leadership will further strengthen ACB’s role in global health governance, and enhance its contribution to advancing more effective, efficient, and sustainable approaches to health financing and programme delivery.
Dr. Fomundam is expected to assume his duties in the coming weeks. We look forward to facilitating his engagement with constituencies, regional bodies, and partners, as we continue to strengthen collaboration.
We also look forward to continuing our close collaboration to further elevate Africa’s voice and priorities within the Global Fund and the broader global health architecture.
