Dr. Henry Fomundam
Executive DirectorDr. Henry Fomundam brings over three decades of experience in health systems strengthening, disease control, policy development, and global health across Africa and internationally. He has held leadership roles spanning public, private, and academic institutions, working extensively with governments and regional and global partners.
As Regional Director of the Howard University Global Health Initiative, he coordinated PEPFAR-funded programmes across 14 African countries, supporting stronger health services and systems. His experience also includes contributing to the development of the operational framework for the African Medicines Agency and advancing pharmaceutical regulatory and manufacturing systems in Africa.
Dr. Fomundam has served as an Associate Professor at Stellenbosch University’s Africa Centre for HIV/AIDS and has contributed to major global health financing and policy initiatives. As Executive Director of the African Constituency Bureau, he brings this extensive experience to advancing African engagement and priorities in global health governance.
